This video is incredibly close to my heart. Earlier this year, I visited Puerto Rico and spent time with my sweet Tía Lydia, who welcomed me into her cocina like she always has: with love, laughter, and that unforgettable Boricua sazón.
She made Bistec Encebollado — Puerto Rican-style steak and onions & peppers— one of our family’s most cherished dishes. Thin steak marinated with apple cider vinegar, sofrito, garlic paste… it’s comfort food at its best.
I filmed this moment to capture her magic and share it with all of you. Scroll down to watch the video and follow along with us!
I hope this post inspires you to sit with your Tia or Abuelita, ask questions, cook together, and press “record.” These moments are priceless.
